Sanjo College of Pharmaceutical Studies (SCOPS) is a multi-arched facade with a plethora of choices from the regular syllabus up to nourishing the fresh minds of students with confidence. The college has been duly recognised by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS).

SANJO COLLEGE OF PHARMACEUTICAL STUDIES is located in a lush green atmosphere at Vellapara near Chithali in Thrissur – Palakkad Highway and is just 15 km away from Palakkad Town.

College Logo

This beautifully designed logo represented by a bowl with a serpent, and a hexagon along with the benzene ring is a symbol representing the profession of Pharmacy. The tail of the serpent is modified into Rx which means ‘take this and pray’. This structure is comfortably placed over a book symbolising education and wisdom. The name of the institute is artistically placed beneath on a red banner to symbolise that the institute upholds all the ideals of Pharmacy education.

College Flag

The flag is divided equally into two, with white on top, green at the bottom and the logo of the college in the middle. While white represents purity in education, green represents prosperity and growth of the students, faculty and the College itself. The College flag gains its significance during the College day as well as other events. All students and staff must give due respect to the College flag.

COLLEGE ANTHEM

Due respect must be given to the College anthem which is sung during the commencement of any academic/ cultural programme within the campus and during the first hour of regular working days.

RSL ( Rock School, London ) is one of the important International Awarding Boards of Education, Arts & Music in UK. They bestow FRSL ( Honorary Fellowship of RSL ) Every year to a chosen Educationist /Artist/ Musician Every Year on the basis of Experience, expertise and creative contributions in the above said fields.

This year they have had a nomination from India, and Fr Sanil was selected for the bestowal of (FRSL) for the contributions in the fields of education, music.

Dr. B. Lakshminarayanan
Professor cum HOD
Dr. B. Lakshminarayanan is a dedicated Pharmaceutical professional with a profound academic background and extensive expertise in research, teaching, and industrial practice. His journey in the realm of Pharmacy has been marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation, coupled with a deep commitment to advancing the field. Dr. B. Lakshminarayanan, an accomplished pharmaceutical chemist, holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacy from Annamalai University and an M. Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University. Dr. Lakshminarayanan’s expertise encompasses the synthesis and characterization of new chemical entities, molecular docking studies, spectroscopic interpretation, and phytochemical investigation, with proficiency in various analytical techniques including HPTLC, HPLC, and UV-Visible spectrophotometry. He has held notable positions at several esteemed institutions and has been actively involved in research, contributing to numerous publications and presenting at national and international conferences. His professional activities include coordinating seminars, training staff and students, and reviewing pharmaceutical journals. He is a member of several professional bodies and has substantial experience in handling advanced pharmaceutical instruments. With over 17 years of teaching experience, he has served in various capacities, including Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in various Pharmacy colleges in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. Currently Dr. Lakshminarayanan serving as the Vice Principal and Professor & Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Analysis at Sanjo College of Pharmaceutical Studies, Kerala. His tenure as an educator has been marked by exemplary leadership and a passion for nurturing the next generation of Pharmacy professionals.

Dr. Deepa M K
Professor cum HOD

Dr. Deepa M. K is a Professor and head of the department of Pharmaceutics at the Sanjo college of pharmaceutical studies, Palakkad, Kerala. She obtained her B. Pharmacy from the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, her M. Pharmacy from SRM University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and her PhD in Pharmaceutics from Singhania University, Rajasthan. She has 16 years of teaching and research experience. She has guided 25 B. Pharm students and 8 M.Pharm students. Her area of interest is the nanoparticulated drug delivery system, the floating drug delivery system, and the microencapsulated drug delivery system. She has published 34 research and review articles in national and international journals. She has published two books. She has presented papers at conferences and webinars in national and international levels. She organized national level webinar on Best Practice of Clinical and Community Pharmacist for better patient care in Association with Indian Hospital Pharmacist Association, New Delhi. She has filed a patent application in novel treatment of cervical cancer. She has been a resource person in faculty development programme.she had attended in faculty development programme- Phase I conducted by KUHS.

Dr. Eldhose M.J
Professor cum HOD

He has completed his post-graduation in pharmacology from PSG college of pharmacy Kovai and graduation from Cheran College of pharmacy Coimbatore. He has finished his doctoral degree from Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation Salem. He has explored his research area in neuropharmacology and behavioural studies using modernized scientific techniques. Apart from this he has revealed his research studies through 5 international journals. Moreover, he has shared his thoughts and concept regarding neuropharmacology in various platforms. And currently focusing on powerful and innovative technical therapies that can make some tremendous changes in the area of neuro sciences.

Dr. Sivakumar .B
Professor cum HOD

He has completed B.Pharm and M.Pharm at J.S.S College of Pharmacy Ooty and Ph.D. from Prist University Thanjavur. He has over 16 years of academic experience under various institutes. He published many paper in various national and international journal which has the good impact factor and indexed with SCOPUS and UGC recognized. He has participated and attended various national and international conference and seminar held at various institutes .

Mrs. Nimy M. G
Asso. Professor

She has completed M. Pharm Pharmaceutics (2013-2015) from Nehru College of Pharmacy, Thrissur with Distinction and graduated B. Pharm from Nehru College of Pharmacy, Thrissur with First Class. She had 5 years of teaching experience as Assistant Professor from Nehru College of Pharmacy.

Mrs. Ashitha Rajanan
Asst. Professor

She earned her M.S. in Pharmacology and Regulatory Toxicology from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) in Guwahati in 2023, following her B. Pharm degree from the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Government Medical College Kottayam in 2020. She is skilled in both in vitro and in vivo pharmacology and successfully passed the GPAT and NIPER-JEE exams in 2021. Her research contributions include one published research article and one review article, and she has taken part in several national and international seminars. Additionally, she spent a year working as a research assistant in the ADME-DMPK department at Sai Life Sciences in Hyderabad.

Mrs. Neema George
Asst. Professor

She has completed M. Pharm pharmaceutics (2019-2021) from Grace College of Pharmacy, Palakkad with distinction and awarded third rank from Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur, Kerala. She has graduated B. Pharm from Nehru College of Pharmacy, Pampady with distinction and college topper in 2018. She has participated in several international and national conferences and seminars. She has published a review article in an international journal.

Dr. Vinod Kombath Ravindran
Principal

Dr. K.R. Vinod credited with more than 25 years of professional experience which includes academics, hospital Pharmacy (overseas), and research. He has guided more than 31 PG projects and credited with more than 90 national/international scientific publications, author of 2 books. He pursued his graduation and masters from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, and was awarded a Ph.D. from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur. His affiliated qualifications include IPR from WIPO, Geneva, PGDMM from IGNOU, New Delhi, NTTP from Nanoscience and Technology Consortium, Noida, and DCA from IFG-ace.

He chairs the editorial board of the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Nanotechnology, Columbia Publications, USA. He has been awarded for technical speeches at the International Congress of Pharmacy graduates, oral presentations at UGC-sponsored national seminars, organized by Acharya Nagarjuna University. OMICS group LA, USA, felicitated him for his phenomenal and worthy technical talk at the 3rd World Congress on Bioavailability and Bioequivalence. He has extensive research experience in SLN, Transferosomes, liposomes, noisome, cubosomes, GRDDS, mucoadhesive magnetic drug delivery systems, herbal formulation development, teaching, and study methodology research programs.

He also designed analytical instruments like the Students Diffusion Cell- SDC-1T 09, mucoadhesive testers for tablets and microspheres, consistency testers, artificial stomach models, simulated circulatory systems, etc. He is a formulation consultant (MoU) for many organizations in various countries, including N. Korea, the US, the UK, and Canada, etc.

Dr. Purushothama Reddy
Professor cum HOD

Dr. Purushothama Reddy K is a distinguished academician and researcher with over 15 years of experience in pharmacy education and research. He holds a Ph.D., and currently serves as Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice at Sanjo College of Pharmaceutical Studies (FEB ID P30693) in Palakkad, Kerala, India. Dr. Reddy has made substantial contributions to the field, supervising over 40 research projects and publishing more than 80 research and review articles in peer-reviewed journals indexed with UGC approval, Scopus, Web of Science and PubMed. He has authored the book “Clinical Research”, “Applied Pharmacotherapeutics: A Guide to Clinical Practice” and a book chapter on “HIV/AIDS HAART”. His expertise spans experiential learning, problem-based learning and patient counseling, among others, fostering a research-oriented environment in pharmaceutical education.

Mrs. Jilsha G
Asso. Professor

She has completed her B. Pharm and M. Pharm (Pharmaceutics) from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, Kochi. She fetched grants from Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment for her M. Pharm project work. She has participated and presented poster in Indian Pharmaceutical Congress held at Bangalore in the year 2011. She has 10 years of teaching and research experience. She has guided 10 B. Pharm projects. Under her guidance few students got prizes with cash award for the poster and oral presentation in national and international seminars conducted by various other colleges. She has published 18 research and review articles in national and international journals. She has attended various national and international seminars and conferences. Currently she is doing part time PhD at Karpagam University, Coimbatore.

Mrs. Haritha K.H

She has completed her M. Pharm from Grace College of Pharmacy, Palakkad with distinction and B Pharm from Nehru College of Pharmacy, Pampady, Kerala. She has one year experience in a reputed hospital as Pharmacist. She has participated in several international and national seminars and conferences. She has published a research article and a review article.

Mrs. T K Rasmy
Asso. Professor

Acquired M. Pharm (Pharmaceutics) from Nehru College of Pharmacy, Thrissur in 2013. With 10 years of teaching experience she has guided 09 B.Pharm Projects and participated in several international and national conferences and seminars. She did her M.Pharm Project at Rajiv center for Biotechnology Thiruvananthapuram on antimicrobial peptides. She has published a research article in an international journal. She has successfully completed AICTE Sponsored QIP in Bioanalytical Techniques and Tools for Drug Discovery Process and Insilico approaches in Drug Delivery conducted by BITS Mesra in 2021. She has also completed certificate programme in young adults’ guidance and counselling conducted under KUHS School / Centre for studies on Health of Young Adults in 2019. Currently she is persuing part time PhD at Karpagam University, Coimbatore.

Mrs. Deena Joby T

She has completed M. pharm Pharmaceutics (2021-2023) from Visveswarapura Institute of pharmaceutical sciences, Bangalore with Distinction and graduated B.Pharm (2016-2020) from St. James college of pharmaceutical sciences, Chalakudy with distinction. She has also done a certification course in ‘Advanced integrated program in Pharmacovigilance and clinical data management from Orange Innovations.

Completed M.Pharm in Pharmacology from Govt. Medical College, Trivandrum in 2015 with distinction and B. Pharm from Grace College of Pharmacy in 2013 with a distinction as well and was awarded First Rank from University of Calicut for Graduation. Qualified GPAT and NIPER-JEE in 2013. Presented a poster during 66th IPC, Hyderabad. Participated in several national and international seminars and conferences and published two research articles. Worked as an Asst. professor for an year in PSG College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore during 2015-2016. Experienced as a pharmacy assistant in Community pharmacy setting, London , United Kingdom till 2019. Have been working with Sanjo college of Pharmaceutical Studies in the Department of Pharmacology since December 2021.

She has experience in Hospital and Community pharmacy. She has skills in animal handling and surgical procedures in taking various parts of rats and mices,etc. She has participated in several National & International webinars and Conferences.

She has completed her B. Pharm in Ultra College of Pharmacy, Madurai and M. Pharm in Madurai Medical College, Madurai. She has completed Diploma in Information Technology at Manipal Institute of Computer Education, Sholavandan, Madurai. Having four years of experience, she has guided several B.Pharm projects.

She has 8 years of teaching experience.She holds distinction in her degrees, which earned a meritorious gold medal in her master degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. Her research interest includes Docking and Designing of biological inhibitors of tuberculosis. She organized 4 national seminars and participated in 20 national and international seminars and conferences. She had presented 5 scientific presentations and has also attended various national and international conferences. To her credit she has 11 publications in national and international journals.

She has Completed M. Pharm from SRIPMS Coimbatore –Started career as academician for a period of 5 years-later switched over as MOH pharmacist abroad in UAE for 8 years. Area of interest is drug design, molecular docking and has master thesis published in international asian journal (ajphs)

He has worked in India’s Largest Biopharmaceutical company – Biocon, Bangalore on Analytical R & D Oncology Department as an Intern. He has participated in several national and international conferences and also published more than five research articles.

Worked as assistant professor in Nehru College of Pharmacy for 1.5 years and as lecturer in Al shifa College of Pharmacy for 1 year. Working as assistant professor at Sanjo College of Pharmaceutical Studies since March 2022.

Medical college, Trivandrum in 2014. Qualified GPAT in 2014.Participated in several national and international seminars and conferences and published 6 research articles,10 review articles and 3 Case Reports. Got one patent on Smart Insulin Delivery Device, Design No. : 403628-001, Serial No. : 158850, January 2024. Certificate of registration of Design, The Patent office, Government of India.
